Ultramarine Advisory was founded on a basic observation: America's reindustrialization and decarbonization will falter unless we find ways to scale expertise. Today, over 60% of manufacturing companies report talent as their primary challenge, while shortages in experienced leadership have driven executive hiring timelines from around 50 days in 2005 to more than 120 days today.
Ultramarine brings modern manufacturing leadership to the market at scale - uniting deep experience in elite organizations with disruptive digital tools to offer unprecedented speed and quality of execution.
Rory Marsh, the founder & principal of Ultramarine, has dedicated his career to transforming cutting edge innovation into commercial success - for the benefit of the planet. At Tesla, he built the financial architecture for the Model 3 program from scratchpad to first deliveries, while simultaneously transforming Model X from a unprofitable product into a healthy money maker. He went on to join Lightship Energy, an electric trailer OEM producing off-grid power solutions and premium recreational vehicles. As the first business hire, he built the company backbone, core business functions, corporate strategy, and commercial motion, on the way to raising nearly $100M in equity and debt. He has consulted for numerous clients over the course of his career, both at McKinsey and as an independent advisor.

Achieving a net zero emission global economy is one of the defining challenges of this century — and yet, experts estimate an $942 billion gap annually in financing for biodiversity protection, and an even larger $6.2 trillion annual shortfall for climate change mitigation as a whole.
Environmental nonprofits are struggling to capture the resources they need to operate: only 2% of global philanthropic contributions go to combatting the effects of climate change, as opposed to 23% for religion, 14% for education, and 13% for human services.
That is why Ultramarine is pledging 10% of all monthly hours to environmental nonprofits. A small commitment to alleviate the resource strain on critical organizations.
